Here is the thing; Maybe for these great men -they were great- and with their great teachers they are able to perceive more depth and more light every time they learned it again, but-and this is a big but- we cannot, we don't know how and we were never taught how or never taught period. I never met anyone that was. It is the same thing with the comment "turn it over, turn it over, for it is all there" i never learned math from Sha"s, these great men did (Gra learn euclidean geometry, made all his students learn it) but i cannot, i have not met anyone who has.
this is why I feel bad for you Mr. Rational. You never learned anything properly. Whose fault is it? I have no idea. Probably it's not yours. Onas rachmana patrei. But at the end of the day you still don't appreciate Judaism. Tell me, what is it about you that qualifies you as pious? From your writing it would appear to not be the case. But who am I to judge. Regardless, ain haKadosh Baruch Hu ba betrunya im briosav. If he thinks you can learn then you certainly have the capability to do so.

One of my favorite lines.
I am sorry you get the picture that i have not learned anything properly, i can assure you that you are wrong. If you want you can ask Nemo to verify this.
I did get a "metzuan" on BBC from Euro. Does not say much, and it is sad that this is my only credential... What are we going to do?
"you still don't appreciate Judaism"
I have no idea where you get this idea. I will blog about this eventually.
Please avoid throwing Jewish/Lubab cliches at me. I am joking. Throw away
TRS: I vouch for Mr. Rational. The guy is definitely no am ha'aretz. Furthermore, he is definetly no freyak. I wouldn't describe him as someone who doesn't appreciate Judaism. From my many conversations with him, I would say that he appreciates and very much cares for Judaism. He is, however, definitely a little disenchanted with the Jewish/Lubavitch establishment and common thought.
I think half the people learning "Smicha" might as well watch BBC, they might learn something.
We are a disaster. I think as soon as you see the world (like you do Nemo) you come to realize how screwed up we really are, at least from an educational perspective.
Nu, give us all a primal scream about all that is wrong in lubavitch. I doubt you'll say anything I haven't heard, but I'm sure you'll appreciate the experience. Also, I'll be in CH this shabbos...you frequent the area?
I also plan on giving ideas on how to improve it. We are in an era of change. We need people who are willing to bring forth idea's of improvement, and say "Yes we can"
It got a man to the most powerful position in the world. It can change Lubavitch.
I do frequent CH, not sure i am going to be there this week.
Nemo you are going to CH this week? Maybe i will come in.

That sounds like the kid who told me that one of his rebbeim passed the Bar exam just by studying gemara. Right.
Ha, I remember someone told me that. It was hilarious. Some people in our community are so delusional it is borderline immoral.

BBC from Euro? Isn't that a cable news channel?

Nemo,
Basar B’cholov from Rabbi Yaroslavsky.
Thanks for the love!

RP ... I've been saying this for at least 6 years, maturing and refining my feelings about it along the way.

I don't know. Debating whether to come in to CH or go to DC.
DC?
We had a good time there. Besides the restaurant, remember that? LOL
Maybe visit a friend. I didn't mind the restaurant so much. But then, I just ate everyone's free leftovers, so who am I to complain.
You are easy to please. You will have a good marriage.
